Little Moon Chinese

Chinese name tracing worksheet

Type your child's Chinese name. Each character gets pinyin, stroke-by-stroke order and tracing boxes that fade, so they move from tracing to writing on their own.

How to use this name worksheet

  1. Type the name in Chinese characters.
  2. Keep Large boxes for children under 7.
  3. Set rows to 2 or 3 for more practice on each character.
  4. Print it, or save it as a PDF and print a fresh copy each day.

Tips for teaching kids to write their Chinese name

  • Start with the stroke order row: say each stroke out loud while drawing it in the air.
  • Trace the dark boxes first, then the lighter ones, then try the empty boxes.
  • Practice one character a day instead of the whole name at once.

Will a rare character work?

About 9,500 characters have stroke data, which covers nearly all names. If one is missing, the page tells you which.

Traditional characters?

Many traditional characters are supported. Type them the same way.
